Year 1: Outstanding Achievement in Teaching by a Department
or Course in the Basic Sciences Award(This is the 4th straight
year the course has won this award, and the fifth year, overall)
Dr.
Mark Haussler,
Regents Professor
Year 1: Basic Science Educator of the Year Award (This
is his third such award, and he will be retired as a Basic
Science Lifetime Educator of the Year)
Dr.
Marc Tischler,
Professor and Associate Head
Dean's List for Excellence in Teaching in the Basic Sciences
Award (This is his fifth honor of this type, in addition
to numerous other teaching awards)
These awards are nominated and selected by the
medical student body.
The Medical Biochemistry Course was coordinated
by Dr. Marc E. Tischler, who did a major portion of the lecturing,
along with Drs. Robert Gillies and Mark Haussler. Additional
faculty for Case Studies were Drs. Louise Canfield, Randall
Heidenreich, Peter Jurutka, Randi Weinstein and G. Kerr Whitfield.

Chadderdon, Administrative Assistant, and Sherry Jameson,
Administrative Secretary.

Ellis Sparks Kondrashov

Graduate Student in Applied Mathematics (Montfort
Lab) Dmitry Kondrashov and his wife, Shannon Sparks, welcomed
the arrival of Ellis Sparks Kondrashov. Ellis was born Sunday,
October 6th.
Research Assistant Professor Randi Weinstein
and John Hartman welcomed the arrival of John Henry Hartman
VII on December 12, 2002.
