Application Procedures

Application ProceduresStudents interested in working at the interface of biology and chemistry at the University of Arizona should apply to the Biological Chemistry Program. Once admitted to the Biological Chemistry Program, students will choose a home department from among the three participating departments, Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics, Medicinal Chemistry, and Chemistry. At the time of application, a home department does not need to be chosen. Priority will be given to applications received on or before January 1st, however, outstanding applicants are encouraged to apply at any time. *Application
procedures for currently enrolled UA graduate students HOW TO APPLY:SEND ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOPHYSICS. DO NOT SEND THIS INFORMATION TO THE GRADUATE COLLEGE. STEP 1: Complete the application online. Click HERE for the ONLINE application. (Alternatively, you may download the appropriate application and supplementary materials (PDF format - click here). Mail the completed application and supplements directly to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, c/o Jane Dugas (address below). Although the January 1st deadline has now passed, a $50 application fee will be charged for the remainder of the application process. STEP 2: Arrange for additional material to be sent directly to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at the address shown below. To expedite this process you may send copies of your transcripts and standard test scores. Official copies will be required to finalize your admission. STEP 3: You must also apply to the Graduate College at http://grad.arizona.edu/applynow.php. The Graduate College requires that you submit an application of $50, payable by credit card. BCP applicants, please choose "Biochemistry PhD Science". CHECKLIST:
