General Nucleic Acid Biochemistry 461, Fall 2010


PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:00-11:50 AM in Bio.Sci.East 100. In-class activities will include lectures by Dr. Bourque and/or problem-solving discussions with Michael Pham (your teaching assistant) and/or Dr. Bourque. The first lectures will cover Chapter 25, followed by several lectures/discussion that review material in Chapter 4 and 5 that you learned in prerequisite courses. [Your primary learning tools during this period are online notes and/or Powerpoint presentations along with study questions for Chapters 25, 4, and 5. For the rest of the course, lecture topics will be covered in much more detail, and will utilize online materials including lecture notes and study questions, as well as some in-class discussions of lecture topics.]

12/7/10: Hour Exam 3! The exam will cover:
1) Chapter 28 from DNA Replication to end of lecture material.
2) Chapter 29, Transcription in prokaryotes and eukaryotes.

8/30/2010: Unfortunately, I am still hampered by both of my computers not letting me change things online or even edit web pages. So spent a lot of $$ today to fix the one I use at home and several hours of time to work on fixing the one in my office - possibly successfully? Stay tuned.

8/30/2010: Aug. 30 lecture will complete Chapter 25 and discuss the papers assigned [below, 8/12/2010]
