Gradebook: Exam Grade Distributions

Your exam grades are recorded on the D2L website for this course (http://www.d2l.arizona.edu). Be sure to check that yours is recorded accurately.

  • NOTE: Any irregularities in your grades should be reported (and evidence provided if needed) to Dr. Ziegler (zieglerm@u.arizona.edu).

Exam grade distributions are linked below. Each hour exam has 100 points maximum and the final exam has 190 points.

Exam 1 grade distribution

Exam 2 grade distribution

Exam 3 grade distribution

Final Exam -- No letter grade distribution will be posted, and there wasn't time to construct any bar graph other than what you can see in D2L.

Letter grade distributions for hour exams are only guidelines, intended to give you some idea where you stand on THAT exam. In the end, only the TOTAL points for the course (including homework and quiz grades) will be relevant in assigning final letter grades for the course. Final course letter grades will be assigned based on a grade distribution curve for 700 total points in the course for sections 1-6: 480 exam points, 150 problem set points (best 10/11), 60 quiz points (best 3/4), and 10 reading question points (best 10/11). For section 7 (honors), the grades will be assigned based on their percentage grades out of 875 points, the same 700 points as sections 1-6 plus an additional 175 points. The letter grades will not break at integral percentage numbers.
