Honors Project: "METABOLISM IN THE NEWS"
Biochemistry 462b Honors Spring 2008
Instructor: Dr. Don P. Bourque
Teaching Assistant: Zak Campbell

Course Description

"Metabolism in the News" is the focus of the honors project. The goal is to learn in depth about contemporary "newsworthy" discoveries in metabolic biochemistry. Students choose research topics after searching recent popular press and World Wide Web reports of new discoveries regarding molecular mechanisms of metabolic systems and/or the molecular basis of metabolic diseases. Students will produce a scholarly research report in the form of a web document. This report should include well-communicated text and illustrations as well as links to biochemistry course materials, primary literature citations, pertinent web sites, and other information sources.
