Outreach

The Biology Learning Center (BLC)

An instructional computing facility located in the Chemistry & Biological Sciences Building, room 209, with a web site that centralizes links to UA biology courses, departments, projects and programs.

The Biology Project

An online interactive resource for learning biology that covers topics such as biochemistry, cell biology, developmental biology, human biology, immunology, and Mendelian genetics.

College of Science Staff Advisory Council

CoSSAC serves as a liaison and advisor to the Dean on staff issues. Its goal is to empower employees within the College of Science, enhance their quality of life, and build a sense of community.

College of Science Student Research and Outreach

A variety of research and outreach programs conducted across campus encourage undergraduates to become involved.

The General Biology Program

The General Biology Program for Teachers offers graduate-level courses and enrichment opportunities for biology teachers. The program was designed to address the needs of middle and high school biology teachers for graduate-level biology courses, taught at times when they could participate.

The Manduca Project

Science education using insects. The Manduca Project is based in student explorations of Manduca sexta, and has proven that this insect is important not only as a research subject, but also as a strong bridge between scientists and students.

Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC)

This program is a unique research, mentoring, financial and academic opportunity for underrepresented minority students who have interest and potential to pursue careers in biomedical research. It includes training and financial and training support for the last two years of a student's Enrollment in the University and much more.

Native American Cancer Research Partnership (NACRP)

The Native American Cancer Research Partnership between Northern Arizona University (NAU) the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the Arizona Cancer Center (AZCC) aims to reduce the unequal burden of cancer in Native Americans of the Southwest.

SAZACS and Flandrau science cafes on various topics of interest

Science Connection

A site to support faculty and student K-12 outreach in the sciences.
