Site Licensing

Site Licensing enables you to purchase additional copies of software like Microsoft Office for the office or lab at substantial discounts. You simply have to already own a full version of program and have the CD-ROM for the program you desire to procure a site license for. Site licensing assigns you another Key Code or PIN Number for the software. You will use your original CD-ROM to install the software and enter the Key Code when prompted. You save a bundle by not having to buy the complete package again and you are completely legal as well.

How It Works: All software products sold are made up of 3 component parts:

  1. Media - the software application itself.
  2. Product documentation.
  3. A software licence for multiple users.

You can select any combination of the above to best suit your needs. For example: one set of media, four document sets, and ten licences. Additional licences, media or documentation can be obtained quickly and easily at a later date. Licences ordered must be equal or be greater than the number of media or manuals being ordered.

Customer Eligibility: You are eligible to purchase this program if you are a Educational establishment (for teaching or educational research purpose only) like the U of A.

Concurrency: Often the number of users who have access to a product and the number of users who use it are not equal. Provided that the number of users who are using the software at one time does not exceed the number of licenses, the customer can license exactly the number of users who will be accessing it at one time. This is commonly referred to as concurrency.

Advantages:

  • Significant cost savings.
  • Easy access to the latest technology.
  • Simple budgeting and administration, with a single annual payment.
  • Standardization of software in the office and lab and therefore lowest cost of ownership.
  • Peace of mind knowing that all the software is legal and licensed.

Companies that Participate in Discounted Academic Site Licencing:

  • Microsoft
  • Corel
  • Symantec
  • Macromedia
  • Adobe
  • Filemaker
