First make sure the CCP4 logicals are set (ccp4setup) and
that the logical SHARP_SCR is pointing to your CCP4_SCR area. Start
netscape. Open methylase:8080, you will be prompted for your account
and password. This is a sharp account which is separate from your claude
account.
Ask me for one. After it is set up, you will get an e-mail
from sharp telling you what to do to set up the directories/files necessary
for running sharp.

There are two possible causes. All sharp jobs are run by
the user sharp, but files are put into the users's directories. Sharp
must have read/write permissions for these directories. Set permissions
to 775 or 777 for directories sharp must use.
If the file is being made, check for recursive links. If
they exist, there was an error in your user setup. Delete the links,
run useSHARP again, and make sure the directory you give sharp for your
logfiles is different from the default sharp directory.
Give sharp a sequence file containing two copies of the sequence.
Do not give sharp a molecular weight or number of residues.
